David O'Brien

David Russel O’Brien, 68 of Pineville, MO passed on Monday, May 11th, 2020 in the comfort of his home with family & friends following a recent battle with cancer.

Born January 21, 1952 in Bentonville, Arkansas, to Shirley East Belts & the late Donald E. O’Brien. David was raised at O’Brien Quarter Horse Farm in Pineville, Mo. 

Following graduation from McDonald County High School in 1970, NEO A&M in 1972, David earned his degree in poultry science from the University of Arkansas in 1974. Earning a masters degree from University of Missouri in agricultural education prepared him for his first teaching venture in Hudson, Iowa, later teaching in the McDonald County schools. A brother's illness brought David home to assist with his family farms & businesses. 

David was an entrepreneur with skill-sets and accomplishments that include, president of the State Bank of Noel, a manager at O’Brien Farms, manager at O’Brien Poultry, A.I. technician, member of the North American Limousin Foundation, director of the Missouri Limousin Breeders Association, realtor & catastrophic insurance adjuster, educator, member of the American Quarter Horse Association. David's many interests include poultry, cattle, horses, real estate, & restaurants. He enjoyed helping in his community, believing in community service being a Sextant for the Jane cemetery & maintaining the post office at Jane.










He is preceded in death by his father Donald O’Brien, two brothers John & Dick O’Brien, and Grandparents.

He is survived by Scott Poe, Michael, TaShawn, and Mitchell Williams of the home. A son Joshua O’Brien, Jane, Mo and grandson J.J. His mother Shirley Belts, Hiwasse, AR &. stepmother, Mary O’Brien, Lanagan, Mo. & sisters Marsha Douglas and husband Jary , Grove, OK, Kathy Brooks and husband Bruce, Marietta, Ok brothers Donnie O’Brien and wife Tammy, Pineville, MO, Kelly O’Brien wife Tabatha, Anderson, Mo. & Jason O’Brien, Pineville, Mo, Numerous nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, aunts, uncle & cousins.

The visitation will be Sunday may, 17 2020 at Ozark Funeral Home at 1 pm followed by a service at 2:30. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society ℅ the Ozark Funeral Home.
