Agravene M. "Hackey" Gray of Miami, OK passed from this life Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Windridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Miami, OK. She was 90.
She was born January 10, 1930 in Nashville, TN to Ernest and Dolly (McMyers) Waller. She went to school in the 1st and 2nd grade in Nashville and then finished school in Indianapolis, IN. She married James H. Gray on October 25, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1973.
Hackey worked for 23 years as First Deputy Assessor at the Ottawa County Assessor's Office. She retired in 1995. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Miami, OK. She was a member of the Wednesday Canasta Club, the Red Hatter's Club and was formerly a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Daniel Eugene Gray in 2009, her parents and her siblings, Robert Hargraves, Juanita Reed and Adele Clayton and a granddaughter Shandra Johnson.
Hackey is survived by 2 daughters, Debra Kay Pendergraft of Miami, OK and Linda Sue Teal of Joplin, MO, 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
Private graveside services will be held. Hackey will lie in state at from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, OK. for family and friends to pay their respects and sign the register book.
