Ruth Eileen Ritchie, age 94, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020 at her home.
She was born February 21, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Emmett and Ruth (Riddle) Hoffman.
On September 17, 1947 in Elko, Nevada she was united in marriage to Markus Monroe “Mark” Ritchie, who preceded her in death on May 12, 2012. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a daughter-in-law, Sherry Ritchie.
Surviving are four sons, Mark Ritchie, Jr. of Longview, Missouri, Dean Ritchie of Cassville, Missouri, Steve Ritchie and his wife Liz of Bald Knob, Arkansas and Robert Ritchie of Cassville, Missouri; five daughters, Carole Garrison and her husband Rick of Sparks, Nevada, Judy Engle of Bay Point, California, Peggy Dallmann of Mount Gilead, Ohio, Ruth Ann Carter and her husband Brian of Springfield, Missouri and Katie Tindall and her husband David of Cassville, Missouri; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Ruth grew up and received her education in St. Louis, Missouri, where she graduated from high school. She then moved to California to live with her Uncle Ken where she met Mark and they were married. Mark and Ruth moved to Salt Lake City, Utah then back to Southern California and later to the Bay Area of California. She had worked in Customer Service at Chevron and also at Wal-Mart. In 1994 she moved to Barry County, Missouri to make her home. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed reading, loved dancing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
