Helen “Pat” (Fenix) Lagers, age 91, of Joplin, formerly of Aurora, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Mercy Hospital Joplin.
Mrs. Lagers, daughter of the late Lester and Dorothy (Sloan) Shrock, was born on March 17, 1929 in Coffeyville, KS. She was owner and nursing home administrator of Hope Manor.
On March 2, 2007, she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Lagers in Miami, Ok. She was a member of the Dogwood Trail Blazers, the Walking Club, having proudly walked through all 50 states, and an active member of the Unity Church of Joplin. She enjoyed people and loved her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Robert “Bob” Lagers, of Joplin; two sons, John Pliler, of Joplin and Dale Pliler, of Marlo, Ok; one daughter, Sharlyn Harris, of Florida; one brother, John Shrock, of Tyro, KS; one sister, Mary Jane Welsh, of CA; 33 grand and great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Steve and Darrell Pliler.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2020 at 4:00 pm at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary, Joplin with visitation to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Unity Church of Joplin and may be entrusted to the mortuary.
