Judy Shelvey, age 72, died May 3, 2020, with her husband by her side, in Carthage MO. She was born October 8, 1947, in Webb City, MO to Raymond and Mamie Maynard.
She met and married Roy Shelvey in 1965 in Garden Grove, CA.
For much of her adult life, Judy was a salesclerk, but her real interests were her dogs, Daisy and Hobo, traveling with her husband and their friends, and spending time with her children and grandchildren at the lake house in Manitoba, Canada. She was a loving person who was full of compassion for others.

Judy is survived by her husband, Roy Shelvey; one daughter, Pamela Shelvey; two sons Dean (Nancy) Shelvey, Ryan (Michelle) Shelvey; six grandchildren, Madison (Hunter) Shepard, Adrian, Kaden, Carson, Bronwyn and Emerson Shelvey; one sister, Jeraldine (Reggie) Hibdon; three brothers, Ray Maynard, Dale (Glenda) Maynard, and Rick (Stella) Maynard.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mamie Maynard, and one infant great-granddaughter, Indigo Shepard.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, MO.
Contributions are suggested and made payable to James River Church (Joplin Campus) Children’s and Youth Ministries, in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, MO.
