Steven Ray Porter, age 58, Joplin, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Mercy Hospital.
Steven born September 28, 1961 in Harrisonville, Missouri, son of the late Clyde Earl Porter and Audrey Faye Soard Porter. He was a skilled general laborer and worked various jobs before becoming disabled.
Steve was known for his love of Pepsi, his stubbornness and the ability to fix just about anything. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Porter; brothers, James Porter and Clyde Porter Jr.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Cleveland and husband, Allen of Joplin; grandchildren, Gwyneth Cleveland, Bailey Cleveland, Braxton Cleveland, Mila Cleveland, Zayden Cleveland and Kaden Cleveland, all of Joplin; siblings, Nancy Nichols and husband, Glenn of Carl Junction, Richard Porter of Joplin, Terry Porter and wife, Jane of Racine, Rick Porter and wife, Pam of Joplin, Daniel Smith and wife, Merissa of Choctaw, Oklahoma; and several extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Journey Church, 301 N. McKinley, Joplin, Missouri with Pastor John Boyd officiating
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary
