Brooks Gubser

Brooks Russell Gubser, 77, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Friday morning, September 18, 2020. Brooks was born July 10, 1943 in Carthage, the son of Joseph Gubser and Nora (Trimble) Gubser. 

He was a 1961 graduate of Carthage High School. He then attended Missouri Southern State College. Brooks was a veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1961-1965. 

Brooks married Gloria Hart on March 16, 1973 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a cattle rancher, owning and operating Gubser Farms. He worked at Schreiber Foods for 40 years, 15 of those years as International Director for Schreiber International, until his retirement. 








He started Carthage Marine Transport in 2002 with his son, Travis. He loved fishing and hunting, farming, driving the back roads, traveling, had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his dogs, but most of all, loved his family.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Gloria; a son, Travis Gubser (Wisper), Carthage; a daughter, Elizabeth Bourg (Brendon), Springfield, Missouri; six grandchildren, Sydney, Hunter, Bodie, Cole, Brooke and Adley; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Nadine Thompson, and Jean Trimble; and a brother, James Lynn Gubser.

Memorial services will be held 1 pm, Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Inurnment with full military honors will follow the service at the Grace Church Columbarium, Carthage.
