Cynthia Simpson

(From Parker Mortuary)

Cynthia A. Simpson, 61, of Joplin, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020, in the comfort of her home.

Cynthia was born May 10, 1959, in Webb City, Missouri, to the union of Grant and Birdie (Dart) Choate. She attended Carl Junction Schools. Cynthia worked as a waitress in the area, retiring in 2010.

On June 1, 1992, she was united in marriage to Ronald Simpson. Cynthia enjoyed being home, but loved to venture out to the casino from time to time. She was very talented in the kitchen and had a love for cooking. Cynthia was a devoted wife and all that Ron could have hoped for. She was always honest, sometimes to a fault, and trustworthy in all situations. Cynthia and Ron always enjoyed their weekends together and while she was called away from this world too soon, Ron will always cherish their memories they made together.

Cynthia is survived by her loving husband, Ron; three brothers, Randy Choate of Grove, Oklahoma, Rick Choate of Wheaton, Missouri, and Chuck Choate (Kim) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her nieces and nephews; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Ron extends a very special thanks to Integrity Hospice for their support and loving care during Cynthia’s time of need.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2020, in the chapel of Parker Mortuary with Pastor Alan McCamey officiating. Visitation will be from 6-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or Integrity Hospice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
