(From Derfelt Funeral Home)David Charles Martin, 64 of Baxter Springs, KS passed from this life on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, MO.
David was born February 9, 1956 in Baxter Springs, KS to the union of Charles Dale and Betty L. (Wyatt) Martin. After graduating from Baxter High School, David worked as a laborer for few different companies before he retired in 2018.
David enjoyed attending car shows, and loved all the different mustangs he owned through the years. He was an avid sports fan, especially the now Las Vegas Raiders.
David is preceded in death by his father Charles Dale Martin; sister, Julie Call.
David is survived by his mother, Betty Martin of Baxter Springs, KS; two sons, Kyle Martin of Texarkana, TX, and Chris Thompson and wife Holly of Oronogo, MO; four daughters, Leslie Martin of Texarkana, TX, Melissa Thompson and husband jimmy of Springfield, MO, Mandy Martin of Texarkana, TX, and Kayle Martin and husband Scott of Neosho, MO; two sisters, Michelle Gandy and husband Harry of Rocky Comfort, MO, and Vicki Gandy and husband Ernie of Galena, KS; ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the Lowell Cemetery. Pastor Cameron Woodring will officiate. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
