(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Jennifer Marie Millner, age 49 passed away at 5:06 pm, Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Mercy Hospital Joplin, MO following an illness.
Jennifer was born October 22, 1971 in Spokane, Washington. Her parents were Richard Dean and Myrna A. (Martinez) Tackett. She lived in Portland, OR as a child before moving to Baxter Springs then to Diamond, MO while in elementary school.
She graduated from Diamond High School with the class of 1990. She then attended college, earning a degree as a medical transcriptionist.
Jennifer lived in Texas while husband Served in the Army moved back to Joplin area for 10 years then Carl Junction for 14 years before moving back Joplin in 2021.
Jennifer was a liver transplant survivor, and helped countless people facing similar problems through facebook groups. She inspired many and helped many over the years.. For a period of time, she owned Spoiled Paws Treats, an organic dog treat business. She enjoyed designing Fall and Christmas home décor. Fall was her favorite time of year.. Her greatest joy was taking care of her grandson.
Jennifer was married to John Millner on November 14, 1992 in Sarcoxie, MO. He survives.
Additional survivors include one daughter, McKenzie Millner (Deone Kellar), Joplin; her grandson, Jaylin Kellar; her mother, Myrna Tackett, Joplin; her father, Richard Tackett, Joplin; her brother, Sean Tackett (Becky McDannald), Galena, KS; four nieces Jocelynn, Matisen, Maycie, and Braecklin ; one nephew, Mattix; three aunts, one uncle, one great-aunt; and one great-uncle.
Jennifer was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS for cremation.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life at 2:-- pm, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Galena, KS.
