Virginia Osborn

Virginia Pearlene Aten Osborn, 94, of Bentonville, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday morning, September 3, 2021, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas.

Virginia entered this life on September 25, 1926, in Colorado, Texas, the only daughter born to the late George Roy and Gladys (Williams) Phillips. She was raised and graduated high school in Lamesa, Texas. 










On July 10, 1943, she was united in marriage to James J. Aten and to this union four children were born. They resided in Lamesa, Texas until moving to Anderson, Missouri, in 1963. Later in 1970, they made the decision to move to Pineville. James passed away on October 24, 1996, after fifty-three years of marriage. 

On June, 24, 2000, Virginia married Wade Osborn of Bentonville. For the last twenty-one years, Virginia has called Bentonville home. Virginia was a devoted homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed sewing, craft projects, dancing, visiting with her friends and researching family genealogy. Virginia was a member of Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, James Aten and Wade Osborn; a daughter, Deborah Jo Cable; and a brother, Clifton Phillips.

Virginia is survived by her three children, James “Tex” Aten and wife, Sandy, of Rogers, J.L. Aten and wife, Maxine, of Pineville and Sharon Mitchell and husband, Ed, of Shell Knob; twelve grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; two stepchildren, Sandy Stewart and Gary Osborn and wife, Marsha, all of Dallas; five step grandchildren; a brother, Leroy Phillips and wife, Joan, of Racine, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers, Arkansas, with Pastor Shane Pair officiating. A graveside services will follow at 12:00 noon at Pineville Cemetery in Pineville, Missouri. 

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
