(From Ozark Funeral Home)Betty Fay Gardner, 86, of Pineville, Missouri passed away on Tuesday June 14, 2022.
Betty entered this life on June 17, 1935 in Hereford, Texas born to the late Wilbur and Alta (McIntosh) Smith.
She married Donald Gardner on July 6, 1953 in Pineville, Missouri. They welcomed two sons, Bill and Gene, in the early 1970’s.
Betty worked for the State of Missouri in the Division of Family Services in Pineville, Missouri for 30+ years. She enjoyed bowling in a women’s league, hosting family and friends for deer hunting and corn picking seasons, and creating stained glass art. Year-round Betty tended to the birds and flowers on the farm, and always kept a collection of snowmen on display. She attended the First Baptist Church in Pineville, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Donald Gardner; and two brothers Bob Smith and George Smith.

Betty was loved dearly by so many family and friends. Surviving family includes her two sons Gene Gardner and wife, Melynda of Pineville, and Bill Gardner of Frederick, Colorado; four grandchildren, Jami Spurling and husband, John of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Clinton Gardner and wife, Jessica of Jane, Missouri; Justin Gardner and Tara Gardner of Colorado; and a great-granddaughter Avery Gardner of Jane, Missouri.
Graveside funeral service for Betty will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Pineville Cemetery in Pineville, Missouri. Toby Henson will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at this time.
