Mr. James Alan “Jim” Andrews, 66, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday morning, June 21, 2022, in the comfort of his home after a five-year battle with cancer.
Jim entered this life on April 3, 1956, in Joplin, Missouri, born to the union of Wayne Lea and Martha LaMoine (Jacobson) Andrews. He was a lifelong area resident and a 1974, graduate of Parkwood High School.
For over thirty years, Jim was employed by Major Brands Fine Wines and Spirits as a sales rep.
He enjoyed motorcycles, guitars, golfing, was a great bowler, watching Cardinal baseball and a football fan of both the KC Chiefs and Green Bay Packers.
His father, Wayne Andrews preceded him in death.
Jim is survived by his companion of eighteen years, Terry Edwards of the home; his two children, Jessica Andrews and Austin Andrews both of Joplin; his mother, Martha Lewis of Joplin; a brother, David Andrews of Anna, Texas; three sisters, Connie Russow of Joplin, Diane Simonds of Mt. Washington, Kentucky and Phyllis Richardson of Joplin; as well as a host of other family and countless friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday evening, June 27, 2022, from 5-7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parker Mortuary. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
