She departed this life and went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, June 12, 2022, in Berryville, Ark., at the age of 89. She was a long-time active member of Green Forest Assembly of God, Green Forest, Ark., until her health began to fail.
On March 28, 1950, she was united in marriage to Willard Bonham who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, son Jamie Bonham at birth, grandson Jeremy Bonham, sister-in-law Connie Lander, and brother-in-law Graden Rehwinkle.
She is survived by one son and primary caregiver, Kenny (Marilyn) Bonham of Green Forest, and one daughter, Janet (Mike) Walker of Webb City, Mo.; a granddaughter, Lindsay (Kevin) Turner of Oak Grove, Ark.; two grandsons, Keanon (Jenny) Walker of Joplin, Mo., and Kevin (Maggie) Walker of Sandy, Utah; and five great grandchildren, Roper and Rylan Turner and Kensington, Alexandra, and Grayson Walker. Pauline was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to being a homemaker and an excellent seamstress, her lifelong work (retiring at 78) included employment at three garment factories, plus co-owner of a Texaco Station with husband Willard. From 1978-2011, she was co-owner of Bonham’s Hardware with Willard and son Kenny in Green Forest. She is fondly remembered by hardware customers for her kindness and gardening expertise.
Earlier in life Pauline enjoyed doing children’s ministry and playing rhythm guitar in church, and singing at Sunday afternoon community churches. She insisted that her teenage daughter accompany her, reminding her she had paid for her piano lessons. She loved the holiday gatherings of her large extended family, and she was known for her amazing pumpkin pie, sense of humor, and favorite saying: “Well, bless your heart.”
Her children want to express heartfelt thanks to Meals on Wheels/Senior Center, Autumn Hill Therapy and Living Center, and Dr. Randal Spurgin in Berryville, Ark., and to neighbor Charlene Jenkins for their loving care of and kindness to their mother, Pauline Bonham.
