(From Clark Funeral Home)Garry Dale Thurman was born June 20, 1939, in Newton County, Missouri, one of twelve children to Elmer Otis and Bertha (Piercy) Thurman. He entered into rest on June 28, 2022, surrounded by his family, in the comfort of his home at the age of 83.
Garry was a lifelong area resident and graduate of Neosho High School. He worked at Nutra Blend until retirement and following his retirement, had a lawn service.
Garry enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was very family oriented and enjoyed fishing and boating. He attended Believer’s Faith Fellowship Church in Neosho.
Gary and Dora (Hawk) were united in marriage, in 1961 at Miami, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death in 1997.
He is survived by one son, Stacy Thurman and wife, Jessicia of Granby; grandson, Justin Thurman and wife, Amy of Neosho; granddaughter, Harley Thurman of Neosho; three great grandchildren, Clay, Wyatt, and Sawyer; his significant other, Connie Shadwick and a sister, Dean Eddington and husband, Omer of Houston, Missouri.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Tena Ward and ten siblings.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 6th at 10 am at Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery, south of Neosho. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Tuesday evening, July 5th, from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
