(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Jimmie Dale Boman (Jim), 88, of Joplin, Mo passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO surrounded with love by his immediate family.
Jim was born September 29, 1933 to Jeff and Francis Boman in May Community, Mo. He attended schools at Thompson Grove Elementary, Seneca High School, Joplin Junior College and graduated from Missouri Southern State College with a degree in Business and Marketing Management.
His youth was spent working with his dad and uncles in the family sawmill business, after high school he was employed with Milnot and Vickers. He served his country with the Missouri National Guard for nine years. Meeting the love of his life and after a brief courtship, he married Helen Williams of Jasper, Mo in September of 1961. He and his brother Bob owned and operated the Joplin APCO service station then later owned and operated three service stations called Boman Brothers Freeway Oil. Jim spent time as the purchasing agent for MO-Rogers and on to Patterson Steel as Sales Manager.
His lasting career was in sales with Campbell 66 and Consolidated Freightways where he retired to pursue his real love of living on the farm and raising cattle.
Jim was a dedicated Christian and lifetime member of Villa Heights Christian Church in Joplin, Mo where he served as a deacon, elder and Sunday school teacher. He was called to the ministry as a dedicated mission worker with White Fields Overseas Evangelism where he was able to use his passion of the gospel to spread the news of Jesus Christ to many international countries.
Jim leaves behind Helen, his beloved wife of over 60 years, two sons Jeff and wife Kim, Jason and wife Lindsay, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and his sister and brother in law Sharon and Laverl Cory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Francis Boman, sisters Wanda Smith and Freda Fulkerson, and brother Bob Boman.

He will be remembered as a dedicated Christian, supportive husband, dad and grandfather. He leaves a host of family, church and friends.
Services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Villa Heights Christian Church. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the mortuary.
