(From Parker Mortuary) John William Tescher, age 77, Joplin, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Freeman West after a sudden illness.
John was born April 22, 1945 in Sacramento, CA, son of the late Elbert Lester Tescher and Esther Kathryn (Kammerer) Tescher. He grew up in Elk Grove, California where he graduated from Elk Grove High School before enlisting in the United States Air Force.
He served our country during the Vietnam war. He learned his craft as an airplane mechanic while in the service, and continued this for many years before retiring from U.S. Airways.
John was a longtime member of the Sheep Shed Church, and was currently attending James River Church in Joplin. He loved his work with airplanes, and was a devoted family man. He will be greatly missed by many.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie (Middleton) Tescher of the home; daughter, Naomi Tescher also of the home, a sister Elizabeth Tescher of Stockton, CA, stepchildren; Peter Kinter of Greenacres, Florida, Kathleen Turcotte of Branson, MO, Willie Kinter of Joplin, and Jonathan Kinter of Sacramento; grandchildren, Daniel Turcotte, Kenneth Turcotte, Hannah Tabon and husband Nick, Hailey Kinter, Jenny Kinter, and Vienna Skye Kinter; great-grandchild, Clementine Turcotte.
