(From Knell Mortuary)Myrtle Lois Snyder passed away and went to be with her Lord and Savior, June 7, 2022, at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Carthage, Missouri.
Her middle name Lois was in harmony with her personality, so it soon became her given name.
Lois was born in the home at a rural area near Sarcoxie, Missouri to Chauncy “Red” and Nelia Loop on October 15, 1933. She grew up in the Stony Point neighborhood and attended the Stony Point grade school. She went to the Duenweg, Missouri High School where she was a good student and exceeded in and enjoyed extracurricular activities.
On May 25, 1951, she married Glen Snyder and two children were born into that union, Stephen Glen, and Nancy Sue. She was an exceptional wife, mother, and homemaker. Lois kept books for and automotive parts store and Chevrolet agency in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She worked for banks as a teller and a loan officer, was a tax consultant with H & R Block, and was director of a day care center in the Metropolitan Kansas City area.
Wherever she lived as well as worshiped, her interest was in serving people, both young and old. With her husband Glen and her Son Stephen and daughter Nancy she directed a student center for Church of God Students near the campus at the Northeastern Oklahoma State University at Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
She was active in the Women of the Church of God on the local, state, and national level. She served as a missionary with the Church of God Cherokee Home Mission and the rural Park Hill, Oklahoma area to the country people and the native Cherokee Indians where she visited, ministered, and helped them.
After retirements she gave of her time and volunteered for charitable agencies including Hospice. Lois and Glen took in a special needs foster child, Diann Lee, and provided her with a good home.
Daughter Nancy as a high school student and Lois arranged for an oriental student, Nelly Yeo, with American Field Service to come from Singapore and live with the family for a year. Lois became a good mother figure to Nelly Yeo and as a result of this service as chairman for three years of the high school American Field Service organization.

Lois was caregiver for her parents, Glen’s sister, Kathryn and brother, David, and a friend, Vi Rogers who have proceeded her in death. She leaves her husband, Glen Snyder; her daughter, Nancy and husband Steve Mulford; a son, Stephen Snyder; as well as a grandson, Matthew John and wife Kendra, and their four boys, Jason, Konnor, Kendall, and Abel; she also leaves a brother, Donald Loop and his wife Virginia; a sister Marilyn Loop; as well as four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren from the Steve Mulford’s side of the family.
We will all miss her charitable kind heart and loving ways.
