(From Knell Mortuary)William Robert “Billy Bob” Ellis, 49, Oronogo, Missouri, passed away Friday evening, November 18, 2022, at his home.
Bill was born August 20, 1973, in Fontana, California, the son of the late Robert William Ellis and Shirley Ann (Teague) Ellis. He was a 1991 graduate of Fontana High School and then went on to trade school and received his professional degrees for machining and truck driving.
Bill worked as a machinist for Cardinal Scale in Webb City, Missouri for 28 years, and then was a truck driver for Old Dominion for 2 years.
He married the love of his life, Barbara Haase, on April 8, 2017, in Joplin, Missouri. He was a member of Life Connections Church in Joplin and the NRA. Bill was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed fixing up cars and tinkering around the shop, but most of all, loved his family.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ellis; two brothers, Robert Ellis (Pam), Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Scott Ellis (Robyn), Carthage, Missouri; a sister, Cherylon Winningham (Mark), Carthage, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held 11 am, Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Knell Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Friday, November 25, 2022, at Knell Mortuary. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
