From Derfelt Funeral Home)Teddy Don Sheppard, age 78, Joplin, MO passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
He was born January 17, 1944, in Stella, MO to late Rev. Don Sheppard and Helen Landreth Sheppard.
He married Linda Sheppard in February of 1967, and to this union were born four children. She preceded him in death on September 16, 2015.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by two sons, Matthew Ted Sheppard and Paul Sheppard. He then married Carol Kirkpatrick Albertson on November 5, 2017, in Baxter Springs, KS. They had just celebrated fifth year of marriage.
Teddy was an English teacher, track, soccer and basketball coach for several area school districts including, Seneca, Neosho and Monett. He retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons as a Supervisor of Education, Recreation and Vo-Tech training.

Survivors include his wife Carol, of the home; four daughters, Melinda Cruz, Baxter Springs, Melissa Moseley, Joplin, Sara Albertson, Joplin, Teressa Berry, Joplin; two sons, Shawn Albertson, Raymore, MO. and Samuel Albertson, Stillwell, KS; one brother, Paul Sheppard and wife, Lee Ann, Owasso, OK; one sister, Nana Cassatt, Oronogo, MO; one niece, Jill Steinmetz and husband, Nathan; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the Fellowship Baptist Church, Baxter Springs, KS. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in Stella, MO. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Fellowship Baptist Church or Watered Gardens.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Derfelt Funeral Home, Baxter Chapel.
