(From Parker Mortuary)On Monday, November 21st, 2022, John Charles Blaukat, loving husband and father, passed away at age 83 after a short illness, surrounded by his family.
Charles was born December 20th, 1938, in Joplin, MO, son of the late William and Golda (Kirk) Blaukat. He married the love of his life, Cora Mae Sparlin on October 20th, 1961, in Joplin, MO. They had a wonderful marriage and life together.
Charles served in the National Guard for 9 years in the Joplin Battalion. He worked in the sign business for 40 years, as a sign painter. He worked on all kinds of signs over the years and could fix anything. After retirement he kept busy working as a school crossing guard watching over his “kids” as they went to and from school. Charles and Cora celebrated their 61st anniversary in October.
He enjoyed getting together with his Class of 1956 Lunch Bunch, many who had been lifelong friends since grade school.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a sister, Bertha Fern Hunter, and a brother, William Kirk Blaukat.
He is survived by his wife Cora, his three boys, Rodney (Diane), Roger (Kandi), and Kevin, grandchildren Nathan Blaukat, Tanner Watson (Tyler) Claire Garrison (Greg) Katie Nicholson (Nathan) and great grandson Tucker. He is also survived by his sister Martha Highfill, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Central City Christian Church with Scott Boudreaux officiating.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary.
