(From Knell Mortuary)Ramon Vargas, 71, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022, at his home. Ramon was born May 10, 1951, in Rio Santa Gertrudis, Tlachichila Zacatecas, Mexico, the son of Jesus Vargas and Juana Martinez.
He married Juana Villalobos on May 1, 1985.
Ramon worked at Leggett and Platt for 23 years in Carthage and was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Carthage and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Webb City, Missouri.
He loved spending time with his family and his dogs, he was a very experienced handy man and enjoyed fixing things, and he loved tending to his garden where he planted chili, pepper, and tomato plants.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Juana Vargas; two sons, Luis Ramon Vargas (Alejandra), Carthage, and Ricardo Vargas, Carthage; one brother, three sisters, and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, and one sister.

Rosary will be held 9:30 am and then funeral mass will follow at 10 am, Monday, November 21, 2022, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Carthage. The burial will follow in Park Cemetery, Carthage.
Visitation will be held 2-4 pm, Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
