Dan Brand

Daniel F Brand II, 71, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on October 28, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 27, 1951, to the late Ralph and Ann Brand Perry in Picher, Oklahoma. He was raised in Baxter Springs, Kansas, graduating from Baxter Springs High School in 1969. He attended Missouri Southern College in Joplin, Missouri.

He began his 40 plus year career in the restaurant industry first working as a Manager trainee with Ken's Pizza at 32nd & Main Street in Joplin, Missouri. He worked his way up the Mazzio's corporate ladder throughout Missouri and Oklahoma, eventually becoming a franchisee in Missouri.

Dan is survived by his wife, Barbara S. Brand, two sisters, Barbara Carol Wade and her husband, Mike, and Valerie Messick and her husband, Craig, all of Joplin, MO. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Beth Brand, three grandchildren, Kayla Brand, Kyle Brand, and Megan Brand, two nephews, Matthew Messick, Kevin Messick and several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his son, Jason Eugene Brand, on February 14, 2021.

His wishes were to be cremated.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
