Ally Barnes

Alicia “Ally” Gayle Barnes, 56, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, went to be with her heavenly father on Friday, June 2, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Ally was born on Sunday, September 25, 1966 in Carthage, Missouri, to the union of Jim and Betty Barnes. She was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School. 

She was employed several years as a retail manager, worked as the director for the YMCA, Camp Wakonda as well as working for Missouri Baptist Children’s Home. Ally also worked as a Nanny in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for a period of time. 








During the 2011 tornado in Joplin, Missouri, she worked tirelessly organizing housing at her Church for families in need of shelter. Ally worked as a volunteer event coordinator for the City of Sarcoxie and was huge advocate for the Sarcoxie Relay for Life. 

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Carthage. She loved her Bible study ladies and enjoyed leading the group. It was her faith in God, that carried her through her courageous battle with cancer. Ally will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.








Ally is survived by her parents, Jim and Betty Barnes of Sarcoxie; brother Stacy Barnes and wife, Sarah, of Webb City; nieces and nephews, Lyndsey Smith and husband, Corey, of Gravette, Arkansas, Gavin Barnes and Grayson Barnes, both of Webb City; great nieces, Adlee Smith, Emery Smith and Posie Smith; several aunts and uncles; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Memorial services for Ally are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Church of the Nazarene in Carthage, Missouri, with Pastor Dustin Ledford officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Church. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website www.housh-goodwinfuneralhome.com. Memorial contributions may be directed to YMCA Camp Wakonda in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Missouri.
