(From Parker Mortuary)Christine (Bagley) Armstrong Samuel, age 81, Joplin, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023 at the Solace House of Joplin.
Christine was born December 16, 1941 in Birmingham, England, daughter of the late Charles W. Bagley and Ellen (Mayer) Bagley. She worked for over 20 years as a 4th and 5th grade schoolteacher at Stapleton Elementary School for the Joplin RVIII School District.
She started this career later in life after completing her bachelor's degree and then her master’s degree at Missouri Southern State University while in her 50’s. She loved working with the children, and was a mentor to several while attending Missouri Southern. She was a devoted member of the Racine Apostolic Church where she helped any way she could with projects and activities at the church. She was also a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that will be greatly missed by family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her first husband, H W Armstrong, Jr. and her second husband, George Samuel; a sister, Sheila Bagley; and a son, Jason Armstrong.
Survivors include her son, Jarrod Armstrong and wife Toya of Baskin, LA; step-sons, David Samuel and wife Maria of Joplin, and Michael Samuel and wife Kelly also of Joplin, and Mark Samuel and wife Kim of Kansas; seven grandchildren, Holden Armstrong and wife Kaitlyn, Tucker Armstrong and wife Kristen, Michael Samuel and wife Mechelle, Blake Samuel and wife Amanda, Josh Samuel, and Jake Samuel; granddaughter, Elisha Henderson and husband Timothy; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Kristi Warden, Maria Gomez, and Lourdes Hasty.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Racine Apostolic Church with Rev. Steve Epley officiating.

Local funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, and the services in Louisiana will be handled by Dennard First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro, LA.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in Providence Memorial Cemetery, Winnsboro, LA with Rev. Todd Tucker officiating and grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Racine Apostolic Church on Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Solace House of Joplin care of Parker Mortuary.
