(From Paul Thomas Funeral Home)Melissa Marie Gazaway age 47 entered into rest Friday, June 16, 2023, at 3:15pm at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on August 4, 1975, 1 of 5 children to Sandra Jackson and Larry Gazaway.
Melissa had worked as a CNA. She enjoyed helping elders and making them feel loved and helping them with anything they wanted, whether that was their hair, nails, or dressing them up. She would go the extra mile just to see them smile.
She loved being around people and anyone who crossed her path instantly loved her. If she could help someone, she did. She was so loving and such a beautiful soul. Melissa was united in marriage to Julius Hijoe.
In addition to Julius, she is survived by 3 children and 4 stepchildren: Marissa and Ryan Swafford of Grove, Oklahoma, Michael Puckett of Stella Missouri, Tajerika Puckett of Stella, MO, Arieol Hijoe of Springfield, MO, Alexis Hijoe of Oronogo, MO, Ashley Hijoe of Carthage, MO and Taquita and Dominic Brand of Anderson, Missouri. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Mollie, Seth, Charlee, Jocelynn Swafford, Miles and Stormy Brand and Laura Ingalls, 4sisters, Paula Johnson, Dana Mayberry, Stephanie Gazaway and Geneva Gazaway.

She will be cremated and will be kept with her husband, Julius Hijoe.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
