Jim Allen

James Edward Allen,76, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on June 15, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.

James was born on December 2, 1946, to Edward and Rowena Allen in Stroud, Oklahoma. After he graduated from Wentworth Military Academy in 1965, he attended Oklahoma State University before he joined the United States Navy.

Following his military service, he worked his entire career in the natural gas industry, starting at Cities Service Gas Company and retiring from Williams Company after 36 years. James was a member of the Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma.








He was known as Jim to those closest to him and everyone knew how much he loved motorcycles. He loved to ride them, repair them, and build them. His Moto Guzzi motorcycles were his favorites. Jim also loved westerns and enjoyed watching them repeatedly.

Jim married Mary Gerik and they had three children together, Chad, Shannon, and Ryan. Jim later married his current wife, Anna Morrison, on June 17, 1987. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Rowena Allen, his sister, Sue Higgs; and beloved dogs Amos, Little Bit, Bubba, and Alice Marie. 








He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Anna; son Chad Allen and wife Justine of Olathe, Kansas;
daughter Shannon Robbins and husband John of Dallas, Texas; Ryan Allen of Amarillo, Texas; stepsons Bobby Romines and wife Cindy of Oronogo, Missouri and J.D. Romines of Webb City, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday June 19, 2023 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. He will be buried next to his parents in Ulysses, Kansas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory, Joplin, Missouri.
