(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Cynthia Rae Saavedra, age 69, of Joplin, Missouri passed away June 15, 2023.
She was born August 3, 1953, in Oakland, Nebraska to Eldon and Ruth (Arnold) Farber.
Cynthia served four years in the United States Navy and eight years in the United States Army and was an Assistant Director of Human Resources at Government Employees Hospital Association (GEHA).
She fostered over 400 children and adopted nine children in addition to raising her natural children.
Cynthia married Juan in 1978 and he survives. She is also survived by two daughters, Heather Jacobson, Melissa Saavedra; one brother, Daniel Farber; one sister, Laurel Weathersbee, thirteen grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a stepson, John Saavedra.
Per Cynthia’s wishes no formal services will be held. She will be interred at the National Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory Joplin, Missouri.
