(From Greenlawn Funeral Home)It is with heavy hearts and a lifetime of memories that the family of Russell G. Espinosa announces his passing on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
Born on October 18, 1959, in East Chicago, Indiana, Russell was the youngest child of Victoria (Espinosa) Blake and Arturo Blake. He spent a large part of his childhood in Joplin, Missouri with his siblings, Richard and Marsha.
Russell graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management. He went on to earn a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering before starting a long successful career.
While Russell began as an engineer, his tenacity and hard work led him to senior leadership positions. Russell persevered as a servant leader, demonstrating courage to solve problems and champion change. He also served as President of the Board of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, where he mentored and encouraged future generations of engineers. He was inspired by a teacher that believed in him as well as his mother’s relentless hard work.
Russell was a loving father and husband who lived his life serving the Lord Jesus Christ. He was not only inspired to study scripture, but also followed a calling to lead ministries. Russell was a generous man and a humble donor to many charitable organizations. He loved spending time with his family, traveling, enjoying the outdoors, playing basketball, and listening to live music. Russell was known for his witty sense of humor. He was looked up to by his family and friends for his integrity, wisdom, and can-do attitude.
