(From Clark Funeral Home)Cortney Johnson was born June 8, 1986 in Springfield, Missouri. She entered into rest on June 26, 2023 at the age of 37, the result of a multi car accident.
Cortney graduated from East Newton High School, class of 2004, and during her junior and senior years she was band conductor. She enjoyed reading, Harry Potter, fishing, swimming, cleaning, her cats and music. She was very much a mom and loved being with her family. Cortney currently worked as a recruiter at Tri State Motor Transit in Joplin.
On May 25, 2019 in Sarcoxie, Cortney and Keith Johnson were united in marriage and Keith survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, Cortney is survived by four daughters, Bradlee Donn Wormington, Sadie Lou Sims, Carllee Monroe Sims and Maddie Rae Johnson; her parents, Melissa and David Gibbens of Newtonia and Terry and Holly Starbuck of Chino Valley, AZ; maternal grandmother, Charlene Twitchell of Neosho; paternal grandparents, Ruby Bowling of Marionville and June Young; her siblings, Dakota (Tracey) Gibbens of Newtonia, Cason Starbuck of Goodman, Hannah (Josh) Stepp of Neosho and Chase (Michaela) Starbuck of Kansas City, Missouri; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mike and Melinda Johnson, Mark Williams and Janet Hornback.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Betty Rowe-Clymer, Richard Monroe Twitchell and Paul Wesley Gibbens and paternal grandparents, Carl ‘Buck’ Starbuck and David Young.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby, Rev. Ed Davis will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 5:30 to 7 pm.
