(From Daniel Funeral Home)Marguerite Marie Buzzard, age 84, of Lamar, Missouri passed away June 15, 2023, at Cox Barton County Hospital in Lamar, MO.
Marguerite was born October 15, 1938 in Liberal, Missouri to Wilmer Fay "Bud" Rawlings and Ladye Nell (Yoke) Rawlings. Marguerite graduated as Valedictorian from Liberal High School in the class of 1956.
On October 27, 1957, Marguerite married Leonard "Lee" Buzzard in Liberal, MO.
Marguerite was a homemaker and stay-at-home Mom until her children reached school age. In 1970 she started working at the Lamar ASCS Office, then worked in the Lamar MFA office, in 1981 she bought and started Marguerite's Secretarial Service and ended her career working at the XChanger in Lamar.
Survivors include one son, Jim (Lisa) Buzzard; two daughters, Janet (Charles) McArthur and Jacqueline Speights, all of Lamar, MO; five grandchildren, Katie McArthur, Anya (Tyler) Gripka, Alexa Buzzard, Laura Speights, Cole (Tabby) Speights; seven great-grandchildren, Dezmon, Darionna, Maggie, T'Lenn, Taylum, Lynlee and Lucille; 2 brothers, John (Jody) Rawlings of Fredricktown, Missouri, Richard (Martha) Rawlings of Fairland, Oklahoma; and one sister, Kathryn Sherron of Kansas City, Missouri.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lee, her daughter Joyce Buzzard, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2023 at Daniel Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later time.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Monday, June 19, 2023 at the funeral home.
