(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Daniel R. Wilks, Jr., 27, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri. Daniel was born March 28, 1996, in Joplin, to Daniel R. Wilks and Carmen L. (Taylor) Wilks.
Daniel has lived in the Carthage and Joplin areas his whole life. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 2017. He enjoyed participating in the Preferred Day Program in Joplin and was
a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Carthage.

Daniel really liked to dance and sing. The song “Wild Thing” was his favorite to perform for everyone.
Daniel is survived by his dad Daniel Wilks Sr. and stepmom Amanda of Joplin; his mom, Carmen Wilks of Joplin; one brother Dawson Wilks; four sisters, Chelsea Wilks, Makayla Wilks, Charlee Wilks, and Josephine Wilks; grandparents, Brenda Stark of Carthage, Bob and Carolyn Wilks of Decatur, Arkansas, and Marge Berckefeldt of Joplin; aunts and uncles, Trudi and John Loy of Arlington, Texas, Teresa Stark of Carthage, David and Venancia Wilks of Rogers, Arkansas, Traci and David Willis of Jay, Oklahoma and Daryl Cude of Webb City.
He was preceded in death by his uncle Del Wilks.
A celebration of life for Daniel will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Ulmer
Funeral Home in Carthage.
