G. W. Trenary

G. W. Trenary was born July 22, 1926 in Fairview, Missouri, one of eight children to William Jess and Cynthia Viola (Erisman) Trenary. He entered into rest on June 4, 2023 in the comfort of his home in Granby, at the age of 96. 

G.W. attended Fairview Schools and was a lifelong Joplin resident. He worked at Safeway Bakery in Joplin as a mixer and baker and retired after 40 years. G.W. operated a cattle ranch and enjoyed raising cattle. 

He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids on the farm, playing cards, especially pitch, bowling and was always friendly to everyone. He was a member of the Joplin Elks Lodge and the Bakers Union. 

On March 18, 1945, he married Lola Catherine Davidson and she preceded him in death on June 20, 1999. G.W. is survived by two children, Karen (Martin) Hix and Tim (Kathy) Trenary; four grandchildren, Jerry (Kim) Smith, Jeff (Jennifer) Smith, Larin (Stephanie) Trenary and Melynn (Brandon) Hunter; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. 

 In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 10 am at the Dice Cemetery in Fairview, Chris Sloan will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
