Steven R. Morgan, age 68, of Joplin, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at National Health Care in Joplin.
Steven, son of the late Bill and Agnes (Forrest) Morgan, was born on April 29, 1955, in Guymon, OK. After graduating from high school, Steven then attended Crowder College for a short time and then enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country honorably during the Vietnam War.
After returning Steven dedicated his life to the Lord and serving others. He became a Chaplain to provide spiritual and religious care to Veterans. He often would visit those veterans at nursing homes and hospitals providing prayer, support and spreading the Love of Jesus Christ.
Survivors include his son, James Langrill, of Portland, OR; siblings, Ray Morgan, and his wife, Julie, of Joplin, Daiane Dezenzio and her husband, Tommy, of Wichita; David Wayne Morgan, of Joplin, and Richard Morgan, also of Wichita; three grandchildren; and several extended family members.
Inurnment with Military Honors will be held at a later date in Kansas.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
