(From Parker Mortuary)Lilly Ann Green, age 86 of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg following a short illness. Lilly was born August 31, 1938 in Jasper, Missouri to the late Charles and Flossie (Brown) Mead.
While growing up on a farm outside of Jasper, Lilly was no stranger to hard work. She graduated from Carl Junction High School with the class of 1956 and began her working career between retail and home health services. Her number one priority was always the job of homemaker. Lilly was of the Baptist faith and attended First Baptist Church of Carl Junction for many years.
Lilly married Donald Dean Green in 2010 in Miami, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death in March of 2022. Additionally, a grandson, Nicolas Johnson and a brother, George Mead, also preceded Lilly in passing.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Johns of Pittsburg; sons, Michael Barbee of Joplin, Brian Barbee (Caryn) of Lee Summit, Missouri, Steven Barbee (Patty) of Eagle Rock, Missouri, Larry Barbee (Lesa) of Seneca, Missouri; brother, Charles ‘Sonny’ Mead of Thayer, Missouri; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and close friends.
Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. up to service time. Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, north of Joplin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
