Robert H. "Bob" Barton, age 91, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at his home after a lengthy illness.
Bob was born July 6, 1926 in Goodman, Missouri, son of the late Harry and Alma Barton. He worked for Triangle Oldsmobile, and then Dan Stanley Oldsmobile for many years before retiring in 1980. He then devoted his time taking care of his beloved wife, Dean, for 24 years. Also during this time he enjoyed helping his neighbors by mowing yards, taking them to appointments, and just helping them out anyway possible.
Bob was married to Etheldean "Dean" Butler Barton, she passed away on June 4, 2004. In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was preceded in death by his four sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his two daughters, Debbie Mecham and husband Mike of Medina, Ohio, and Tina Barton of Joplin; several nieces and nephews, including an especially close niece, Virginia Henson and husband Art of Joplin; and his caregiver of 20 years, Sandie Conlee.
He was loved very much, and will be missed by family and friends
Graveside services will be Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
Family invites friends to come by the home following the service.
