Gloria A. Diggs, 77, Carthage, MO, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 23, 2018 at her home with family by her side. Gloria Ann Smith was born July 30, 1940 in Diamond, MO to the late William Sherman Smith II and Margaret Ellen (Davis) Smith. Gloria married Rowland C. Diggs, Sr. in 1958 in Granby, MO; he survives. She worked as assistant manager for Wal-Mart in Carthage, Neosho, and Joplin for several years. She loved bowling and traveling in Latin American countries.
Survivors include her husband, four sons, Rex Eugene Diggs (wife Catherine), Carthage, MO, Rowland C. Diggs, Jr. (wife Pamela), Carthage, MO, Anthony “Tony” Wayne Diggs (wife Terri), Carthage, MO, and Greg Allen Diggs (wife Marissa), Carthage, MO; two sisters, Sherlene Ferguson, Hesperia, CA, and Shari Carpenter, Weston, MO; one brother, Leon Smith of Florida; and eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, William S. Smith III.
