Nadine Blankenship

Nadine Blankenship, 92, a longtime resident of Neosho, Missouri passed away on December 10, 2018 in Conway, Arkansas where she lived for the past 11 years. She was born August 15, 1926 at her parents’ home in the Carr Lane Community in southwest Missouri. She was the second child of Hershel and Mae Reynolds Leonard.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Neosho, MO. Mrs. Blankenship graduated from the School of the Ozarks in 1946, when it was a residential high school. She married Wilbur Blankenship on December 21, 1947, and they lived in Neosho until moving to Conway, AR in 2007. She served for many years as a nurse for Dr. Paul Anderson at Sale Memorial Hospital in Neosho. She retired in 1984. Nadine was an accomplished seamstress, often sewing for her family. During their retirement years Nadine and Wilbur enjoyed many travels across the United States.

She is survived by two daughters, Janice Blankenship James and husband Terry of Conway, AR and Carol Blankenship Ward and husband Charles of Harrison, TN; five grandchildren, Kimberly James Plumley and husband Matt of Conway, AR, Wesley James and wife Jamie of Collierville, TN, Becky James Holland and husband Frank (Trey) of Orlando, FL, David Ward of Boston MA and Jason Ward of Collierville, TN; and four great grandchildren, Kyle Holland of Orlando, FL, Jackson James and Luke James of Collierville, TN, and Peyton Nicole Plumley and Morgan Plumley of Conway, and John David Plumley of Benton, AR. She is also survived by her sister Lavon White of Seneca, MO and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Blankenship was a devoted wife, loving mother, and wonderful grandmother. For the last few years of her life she resided at Brookdale Senior Living Community in Conway, AR. She was a good friend to all and enjoyed her time there.

Visitation will be held at 11:30 am -12:30 pm on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 pm at IOOF Cemetery in Neosho.
