Brett Lee Bruenn, 17, of LaRussell, Missouri, passed away Friday evening, December 21, 2018, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Brett was born at St. John’s Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, on October 4, 2001. He was a junior at Sarcoxie High School, where he participated in football and weightlifting. Brett also attended classes at Franklin Technical Center in Joplin as he was preparing for a career in Auto Mechanics. He enjoyed listening to music, playing paintball, riding ATVs and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Brandy Bruenn, of the home; his brother, T.J. Bruenn, of Wentworth, Missouri; his sister, Taj Bruenn, of Joplin; grandparents, John Carver of LaRussell, Dorothy Carver of LaRussell, Sid and Linda Bruenn of Joplin and Wanda Biesner of Iantha, Missouri; his father, Anthony “Tony” Bruenn; two nephews and one niece; several aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018, in the chapel of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in memory of Brett’s good friend, Chance Jewell.
