Paul Dennis Peterson, age 77 of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Paul was born on March 27, 1941 in Seneca, Mo., the son of Everett and Clara (Taylor) Peterson. Paul proudly served his country as part of the United States Air Force. Following his service, he returned home and worked as a tool & dye maker at various companies and retired from F.A.G. Bearings after 23 years. He was a member of Villa Heights Christian Church.
He married Sherry York on July 15, 1960, they were happily married for 58 years, she survives. Additional survivors include three sons, Shane Peterson and wife Shawn, Scott Redfern-Peterson and husband Chuck, Brian Peterson and wife Sarah, all of Joplin; Six grandchildren, Mitchell Peterson, Russell Peterson, Riley Peterson, Lauren Peterson, Emily Trejo and Elliott Kersh; and three great-granddaughter, Addi Peterson, Rosie and Aundrea Trejo. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2018, at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Truman Brady, Minister, will officiate. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation following the service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
