Helen Yust

Helen Marie Yust, age 94, Joplin, passed away at 8:17 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2018 at National Healthcare Center.

Helen was born on February 22, 1924 in Joplin to the late Harry A. Bailey and Pearl Oldfield Bailey and had lived in Joplin most of her life.

She worked at Motorola in the human resources training department for several years. She then worked at Waddell and Reed Financial, Inc. for several years. Helen was a member of the American Business Women's Association and a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, animals and her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Helen married Earl C. Yust. He preceded her in death on July 4, 2010. In addition to her husband, Helen was preceded in death by three brothers, Bob Bailey, Harry Bailey, Jr., and George Bailey.

Survivors include a son, Roger Yust and his wife, Joy, Colorado; her grandson, Joshua Yust and his wife, Amy, Joplin; a great granddaughter, Ana; two sisters, Thelma Koval, Margie Messenger, both of Joplin; and a brother, Howard Bailey, Joplin.

Services are planned for Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Fr. Joseph Weidenbenner will officiate. Interment will follow in Osborne Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Bill Koval, Jeff Dick, Tyler Dick, Kyle Dick, Christopher Koval and Matthew Irish. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, both in care of Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
