Tiny Grooms

Anna Mae ‘Tiny” Grooms, age 88 of Carl Junction, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

She was born on December 27, 1929 in Hallowell, Kansas, to the late Jesse James Fast and Sarah Elizabeth Ward Fast.

Tiny married Raymond Richard Grooms on September 22, 1948 in Oswego, Kansas, and he preceded her in death on September 18, 1991.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Alberta Wiley; and two very close friends, Thelma Theile and Norma Gallupe.

Along with her husband, Ray, they owned and operated Ray's Radio and T.V. She then worked for Motorola and LaBarge in Joplin. Before retiring, she worked for Oxford Health Services. She and her husband, were members of the Skirts and Shirts Square dance Club. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

Survivors include three sons, Terry Grooms and wife, Melanee, Joplin, Gary Grooms and wife, Cheryl, Carl Junction, Randy Grooms and wife, Denise, Reddings Mill, Missouri; two daughters, Roxanna Yost and husband, Ronnie, Spring, Texas, Rayma Raney and husband, Mike, Joplin; nine grandchildren, Jeff Yost and wife, Stacie, Peach Tree City, Georgia, Rhonda Waddle, and husband, Bryan, Spring City, Julianne Hans and husband, Jason, Fairway, Kansas, Matthew Grooms and wife, Stephanie, Joplin, Trisha Raney, Joplin, Amber Howard and husband, Dustey, Joplin, Jesse Grooms, and wife, Dina, Norfolk, Virginia, Cassidy Claar and husband, Brandon, Joplin, Justin Schesselman and wife, Christine, Joplin; twenty great grandchildren, with one more due in February; and one great great grandchild.

Graveside services are planned for Monday, December 17th at 2:00 p.m. in Rogers Cemetery, Welch, Oklahoma. Pastor Max Raney will officiate.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
