Virginia Putnam

Virginia Putnam, Neosho, entered into rest at the age of 98 years, three months, and 16 days on December 21, 2018.

She was born September 5, 1920 in Neosho to Loyd and Viola (Land) Jeffers. She was a lifelong resident of Southwest Missouri. Virginia was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Joplin. She was a homemaker and was known as a wonderful seamstress and cook. She enjoyed her flower garden and loved her family. Virginia married Noah “Rusty” Paul on August 25, 1939; he passed away on March 5, 1994. On April 8, 1995, she married Wayne Putnam; he passed away on February 27, 2014.

Virginia is survived by three children: Steve Paul of Springfield, MO, Ed Paul (Penny) of Neosho, MO; Molli Augustus (Galen) of Burbank, CA; two step-children: Sharon Hoagland (Forrest) of Grove, OK, and Linda Emmert (Charles) of Joplin; five grandchildren: Rebecca and Angela Augustus, Greg Paul (Shandi), Clayton Paul (Robyn), and Kristy Childs; four step-grandchildren: Tony Hoagland (Renea), Frank Hoagland, Randy Emmert (Shelly), and Bryan Emmert; four great grandchildren: Jonathan Paul (Kelsea), Cameron Paul (Denna), Eden Paul, and Karly Paul; five step great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Loydine Husley of Neosho, and Janice Mitchell (Roy) of Anderson, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, three sisters, and one grandson, Jeffrey Paul.



Services will be 10 am, Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho, with Bro. Pat Jeffers officiating. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at Clark Funeral Home from 5 pm until 6:30 pm. Contributions in honor of Virginia may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
