Mildred Whitemyer

Mildred Lillie (Rudisill) Whitemyer, 92, of Jasper, Missouri, died at 6:10AM, 12/11/18 at St Luke’s in Carthage, MO.

Millie was born on January 11, 1926 in Moorefield, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Henry S. and Mary E. “Bower” Rudisill.

She married Don James in 1943 and relocated to Michigan where they raised three boys, Terry James, Mike James and Dennis James.

Millie later remarried to Vernon Whitemyer in 1957 and had a son, Robert Whitemyer. In 1967 they moved to Jasper, Missouri.

Besides raising four boys, Millie worked many different jobs in her life; store keep, factory work, restaurant owner and skilled seamstress. She always maintained a connection with her roots with a bountiful garden every year and a love for fishing and all things on the farm.

She is survived by three sons; Mike James, Dennis James and Robert Whitemyer; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Millie was preceded in death by her son Terry James, parents, four brothers; Emmitt Rudisill, Lester Rudisill, Worley Rudisill and George Rudisill and ten sisters; Rosia Wallace, Ora Moffitt, Lucille Wilson, Della Parmenter, Lucinda Walden, Sophia Parrish, Clara Miller, Addah Miller and Katherine Rudisill.
