Gene Pearson

Gene Pearson, 86, Neosho, formerly of Granby, entered into rest on December 30, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, following an extended illness.

 Gene was born January 9, 1932 in Newtonia and graduated from Granby High School in 1951. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War in the Strategic Air Command. He was a meat cutter and retired from Fuller’s Market in 1997. He enjoyed NASCAR, baseball and watching television.

Gene and Phyllis (Beck) were married on April 10, 1960 in Ritchey and she survives. Additional survivors are two daughters, Becky Curry of Neosho and Libby Richardson of Granby; four grandchildren, Dusty Curry, Kandace Morrison, Tyler Curry and Logan Morrison and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Rex Pearson.


Services will be Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby, Jack Sanders and Ben Beck will officiate. Interment will follow in the Granby Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby.
