It is with great sadness that the family of Tommie Leroy Turley announce his passing at age 67 after a sudden illness at Freeman Hospital on Monday, December 17, 2018. Tommie also bravely confronted and fought cancer-never missing a day of work to undergo chemotherapy treatments for six months, while working at Quapaw Casino.

He was born August 14, 1951 in Miami Oklahoma to William (Bill) and Ruby Turley. Tommie lived in Joplin, Missouri before moving to San Fernando Valley, California. After high school, Tommie served in the United States Navy and then moved to Maui, Hawaii. Sixteen years ago, Tommie moved back to his roots-Joplin, Missouri and cared for his father during his final days.

A few of Tommie’s favorites were; a good laugh, technology, reading, Batman, music, watching football games, his dog Rambo, and playing cards. He was a cuisine connoisseur. Tommie could also quote a movie reference like he owned it. He had a passion for creating para-cord lanyards as a symbol of survival and sharing them with others. His quick wit, his infectious smile, dimples and sensitive spirit is reflected in his children and grandchildren.
