Eleva Irwin

Eleva Mae Irwin age 97 passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.

 She was born on October 26, 1921 in Crestline, Kansas to Ray Bradshaw and Betty (Biles) Bradshaw. Eleva attended Wirtonia grade school and graduated from Riverton High School in the class of 1940. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and crafts, textile painting, cake decorating and quilt making. Eleva was a member of the Lawton Christian Church and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. 

 She married Eldon (Barney) Irwin on February 28, 1942 in Joplin, Missouri and he preceded her in death on December 16, 1991. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Rae Adams; and two brothers, John Bradshaw and Bob Bradshaw. 



 Eleva is survived by her daughters, Sandra Stehl and husband Bob of Overland Park, Kansas; Joyce Irwin of Lawton, Kansas; a son, Garold Irwin and wife Jenny of Lawton, Kansas; grandsons, Colby Irwin and wife Catherine of Joplin, and Justin Lapping; 3 great grandsons, Dakota Lapping, Dawson Lapping, and Cole Pfaff; a sister, Barbara Badasci of Fresno, California, Reba Gretz of Lowell, Arkansas; and a brother, Van Bradshaw of Baxter Springs, Kansas; along with many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. 

 Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Carl Junction Cemetery with Alan “Red” Parker officiating. The family will be present for a visitation on Friday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Simpson Funeral Home in Carl Junction. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Disabled American Veterans in care of the funeral home in her memory.
