Rethal Williams

Rethal Mae (Zinn) Williams of McDowell passed away December 6th, 2018 at Oak Pointe in Monett, Missouri.

She was born in Leann, Missouri on August 21, 1931 to Faye (Larkin) Zinn and Howard P. Zinn. On September 18, 1949 in Eureka Springs Arkansas she was united in marriage to Ralph D. Williams.

Rethal is survived by three daughters: Tracie (Mike) Snodgrass of McDowell, Pam (Ted) Dorton of Verona, and Tamra (Larry) Sunby of Monett and one son, Kelly (Michael Beidler) Williams of Washington D.C. She is also survived by one brother, Truman H. Zinn of Verona.

Grandchildren include: Shey (Julie) Snodgrass of Monett, Shasta (Roy) Schmidt of McDowell, Chelsea (Kelsy) Conard of Wentworth, Cody (Nicole) Sunby of St. Peters, Missouri, Larry Jr. (Sophie) Sunby of Anderson, Stacy Sunby of Miami, Oklahoma, Shannon (Dwayne) Moller of Monett, Sean (Tina) Kelley, of Monett, Keri (Mike) DeWitt of Cassville, Tara (Jerel) Twitchell of Neosho and Austin (Jami) Kelley of Aurora. She was blessed with 23 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren and 3 nephews. Rethal was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph and a great grandson, Patrick Moller.

Rethal graduated from Purdy High School and later attended SMSU and Drury in Springfield. She worked as a receptionist at both Tasope’ and Juvenile Shoe in Aurora and later in sales at Bruner Pharmacy in Monett.

Family was most important to Rethal and she loved to talk to others about her children and their lives. She loved living on the farm and cherished the large family gatherings at the creek. Rethal was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother (MiMi) and friend to many.

Her wishes to be cremated will be honored and a celebration of her life will be held at Little Flat Creek at McDowell in the spring.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri.
