Virginia Hope Frisbie, age 93, of Joplin, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019 in Commerce, OK. Mrs. Frisbie, daughter of the late Andrew John and Mary Belle (Sanders) Jones, was born on December 10, 1925 in Fairland, OK.
On June 6, 1947 she was united in marriage to Clayton Gene Frisbie in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 2003. She was previously employed as the supervisor for the Circuit Court of Jasper County for 12 years until her retirement and was a volunteer for the Freeman Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the 26th & Connecticut Church of Christ of Joplin. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her son, Dennis Frisbie, and his wife, Steveie, of Miami, OK; four grandchildren, Shannon Whaley, Adrianne Harless, Jennifer Frisbie, and Shannie Frisbie; one step-grandson, Steven Pyle; seven great-grandchilden; and one sister, Lois Harryman, and her husband, Pat, of Quapaw, OK.
In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by one daughter, Cathie Carney in 2002; one grandson, Josh Carney; two brothers, Houston Jones and AJ Jones; and one sister Rose York.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm until service time on Wednesday, December 11th at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary in Joplin.
