(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Arlow B. Chapman, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in Joplin, Missouri. He was born December 26, 1937 in Alba, Missouri.
Arlow was a longtime Carthage, Missouri resident before residing in Joplin. He attended K.C. Central Institute of Technology where he earned his degree in electronics. Arlow joined the Navy in 1958 where he served his country for six years and was stationed on the U.S.S. Boston.
He was an engineer for KODE-TV and an electronic technician for LeBarge Electronics.
Some of Arlow’s interests were Ham radios, sailing, motorcycles, listening to news talk radio and dabbling with any type of electronic. “Pap” as his family referred to him as, had a kind caring soul. He will be loved and missed by many.
On August 10, 1978 he married Laura Hardin in Diamond Grove, Missouri (East of Joplin); she preceded him in death on July 2, 2012.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Callender and wife, Bridget of Claremore, Oklahoma and Brent Callender and wife, Julie of Joplin, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He also had five foster boys.
Arlow was preceded in death by his parents, Cloyd and Glenna Chapman, and one brother, Billy.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri. Arlow will be receiving Military Honors.
